Today's News: It's the end of choice in America

A draft SCOTUS decision to overturn Roe V Wade on a 5-4 vote leaked tonight, and of course we saw the usual pearl-clutching toonight about how unseemly it is to leak a draft Supreme Court decisions:
Digby writes
The Republicans are having a fit about this Supreme Court draft decision overturning Roe.
Needless to say, it’s not about the decision itself. It’s about the leak.
You’d think there would be dancing in the streets but no. They’re freaking out.
The left is neither surprised nor upset - we all knew this was going to happen as soon as Trump appointed anti-abortion judges to replace Kennedy and Ginsburg.
I'm only surprised it took 18 months after Barrett was confirmed to get an abortion case to the Supreme Court - I thought it wouldn't take more than a year.
Of course, Alito also throws in some gratuitous questioning about the constitutionality of same-sex marriage. So I guess that's next: Anyone who wasn't considered a person with rights back in 1776 should be afraid -- And by the way, birth control isn't in the Constitution either. Neither is Social Security. Or disability rights: Continuing this story, I'm now seeing some comments that Biden "must" enlarge the court.
If he had done this a year ago, it might have done some good.
Now, it would just become another Cause Celebre in the American culture war without actually saving abortion rights anyway.
Because they're gone, until states and congress elect enough Democrats to change the laws.
In other news, I thought this was a master stroke: Who needs "buck a beer", which never happened anyway, when Del Duca will give Ontario "Buck a Ride"?  And Del Duca will actually get this done.  Because here's the thing:
Conservatives always promise popular sexy stuff like Buck A Beer, but they don't know how to do it. They think all it takes is a Cabinet motion and somehow a magic wand gets waved and poof, done! and then, years later, nothing has happened and they just don't know what went wrong.
Its because Cons don't know how government bureaucracies work and they have no respect for bureaucrats.  So they have no idea how to deal with the slow-walk bureaucratic response to Cabinet ideas that are nutty or expensive.
Liberals, on the other hand, usually respect the bureaucracy. They know how to work with it. But they also know how to work around it.
So when Liberals come up with an idea like Buck A Ride, they know how to get it done.
(By the way, on a side note, I think this is why Ford can't release the mandate letters - how embarrassing to reveal how little the Ontario Conservatives have accomplished.)
And just a few Ukraine updates tonight: First, here's today's example of "Fuck around and find out": Lots of fires in Russia these days..... And finally, for all of us on the Prairies: Though potholes are apparently a worldwide thing:

One country's disaster is another country's opportunity. We already use foreign students to find higher education, now it's time to apply the same principle to health care. Time to give a whole new meaning to "I'm going for a holiday in Canada."

Fund, not find. Dang auto-correct.

Yes, I was thinking of something along the same lines myself.
