Collective bullying

I don't know why any unionized, federally-regulated employer would bother to negotiate in good faith with their unions anymore -- if anybody goes on strike, the Harper Conservatives just legislate them back to work, to "protect the economy."  Well, somehow the economy managed to survive before these guys came along.  Now, not so much...

we dont have free market capitalism. hasnt been around for several decades.

like a pendulum, the unions have used govt to enforce lopsided labour laws for decades. the momentum however is shifting the other way (too far? perhaps but perhaps not). businesses and taxpayers have been routinely bent over at the behest of unions. is it not the liberal way to think of the collective good rather than the individual? in this case, a few workers are inconvenienced in order to protect the whole, a resounding success if your a progressive.
