Today's News about bridges and airports and Trump blathering again, plus updates on wildfires and on the Commonwealth Games

To finish off the week, here's a collection of posts about the news.
I must admit, I'm tired, so very very tired, of writing about Trump and about Canada's problems dealing with him.
Can't imagine how tired Carney must be!

I am really tired of the infantile diatribes from bullies outraged that their victims are putting up a fight. It is never-ending. We just want to get on with our lives, but no. Sneering, entitled drama-queen bullies from the south keep trying to break things and steal our stuff.

Today, Canada concluded negotiations on a new free trade agreement with the UAE. This deal mean lower tariffs, new opportunities for Canadian workers, and better access to the UAE's $700 billion economy for Canadian businesses. ❤️๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆTEAM CANADA FOREVER๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ❤️ ❤️๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆVIVE LE CANADA๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ❤️

Kids playing road hockey on the brand-new Gordie Howe International Bridge ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Canada celebrated the opening the only way we know how with hockey on the deck of the longest cable-stayed bridge in North America. Built by Canadians, paid for by Canadians.๐Ÿค๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ ๐ŸŽฅ Gray_Mackenzie on ๐• ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆTEAM CANADA FOREVER๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

Canadian media have been playing Gotcha! games with Carney about how Canada convinced Trump to let the bridge open.

Moving on, I saw many posts that people in Toronto were just delighted the Billy Bishop airport expansion idea is quashed:

Today’s decision is the result of a massive effort from the Ontario NDP, organizers on the ground, and the people of Toronto who said: No Jets TO. It was collective power that made this issue impossible for the Carney government to ignore. When we organize, we win! shorturl.at/SDIBf

Tonight was the Washington Correspondents dinner. Trump spoke and yeah, he just such a joker!
In reality, of course, he has absolutely no sense of humour.
