Sunday Funday: Zingers about the Midterms, Interesting Posts, Funny Posts, Getting Old(er), Carney Hat-Trick, TrumpWatch, Animal Crackers

Good zingers about the Midterms and what's happened since

So here's what happened Saturday - which is, by the way, the anniversary of the Four Seasons Total Landscaping fiasco.
Trump sent out a post announcing his new press secretary, Dana White, the CEO of the UFC plus outriders, and they were all supposed to be big tough guys who would beat up the traitor press.

BREAKING: Trump says he has offered UFC CEO Dana White the job of White House press secretary: “Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job!”

What? Of course, he had never actually talked to Dana White at all.
I suspect Trump jumped the gun because he wanted desperately to distract the Sunday shows from talking about the Midterms and Stephen Miller.
Anyhoo, White immediately turned him down.
But wait, there's more.
Turns out, there actually IS a Dana White already in Washington - Dana W. White was with the Heritage Society and Fox News before she was press secretary at the Pentagon.

He said Dana White UFC fighter for press secretary which was insane BUT folks are saying it could be the WRONG DANA WHITE and I’m dying

Now the internet suspects that THIS is the Dana White who was supposed to be asked to be Trump's press secretary. I guess he never met her either.
Nobody has 'fessed up to making a grotesque error, and apparently this Dana W. doesn't want the job either. But its too embarrassing now to even ask her.

Two ancient skulls from China are making headlines because they may be around 650,000 years old. What makes the discovery interesting is not that the fossils are new, but that scientists have finally established a more reliable timeline for studying them. Both skulls were discovered in 1993 at Hulu Cave near Nanjing. One has long been identified as Homo erectus, while the other possesses features that have led researchers to question whether it belonged to the same ancient human species. Unfortunately, earlier attempts to determine their ages produced conflicting results. A new study in Quaternary Science Reviews has now examined fossil teeth and mineral deposits associated with the remains. Researchers estimated one fossil-bearing layer at approximately 639,000 years old and another, potentially associated with the second skull, at around 652,000 years. The uncertainty ranges overlap, suggesting the fossils may belong to roughly the same period. There is an important limitation. The skulls themselves were not directly dated, and the precise discovery location of the second remains uncertain. The findings therefore do not establish that two different human species lived alongside one another. What they provide is a much stronger chronological foundation for investigating that possibility. The dating problem has become clearer, while the question of who these ancient humans actually were remains open. Stay informed, follow @Gandalv
