I bought my boyfriend a book called F in Exams by Richard Benson. Same as these examples you have here. My favourite: "What is the Superego? A toaster waffle that wears a cape and fights crime!"
Or, "what is a discrete random variable? Someone who sits around the outskirts, similar to a wallflower, but more unpredictable after a few drinks."
If I was the instructor, I would be tempted to give marks for imagination and humour!
Thanks --I hadn't realized these were gathered in a book.
I never thought of anything so clever when I was in school -- or since, for that matter.
