You can see for miles and miles

No wonder they made Tourism Saskatchewan into a crown corporation.
There'a a new survey out that says Saskatchewan is the place that that people least want to come to on vacation.  We're basically the Ugly Kid With the Great Personality:
In most cases, then, Saskatchewan is charitably described as "the girl with personality," the kind of province for whom friends have trouble finding a blind date. We're the province who took her dad to the prom. At the great trans-Canada sock hop, we're sitting against the gym wall, behind the stacking chairs, certain we'll be rejected by the popular girls.
The category the survey missed was "easiest to draw" -- we would have won that one.

If Saskatchewan isn't the worst province, then which one is? With that kind of setup, somebody's going to be stuck holding the short end of the stick and feeling that it's unfair.

I grew up in Northern Saskatchewan. There were lakes so clean and pristine, you could see to the bottom of them. The wonderful smell of the Spruce and Pine trees. The Loons calling out on the lake. The wonderful clean air. the cheeky Whiskey Jacks, that would steal the food out of your hands. The beautiful scene we see in pictures of, Canada Geese lit up by the moon, as they migrate is absolutely true. You can hear them calling out to each other. The Snow Geese cover the ground, in the harvested grain fields, all talking at the same time. The miles of golden wheat waving, the mustard fields, oats, barley and rye.

I miss our old farmstead. I left Sask. because of work. Now that I am retired, I am planning to go back to Saskatchewan. I miss the wonderful hospitality of the Prairie people. I miss the fowl suppers, and the potluck suppers and the dances, that used to last until dawn. I really love my Saskatchewan.

Sask. is a wonderful place to visit. First off, its not full of tourists so you can actually enjoy yourself.

Sask. needs to deal with its complex because it really is a great place.
