Leadership in borrowing

Was this the leadership that the Harper Cons were praising Mike Duffy for -- having a well-connected friend willing to give him $90,000?
With no strings attached, of course.
On that basis, I'm ready to show that kind of leadership myself! I can send Mr. Wright the address where he can mail my cheque.

It is Mr Wright's money. He can do what he wishes with it.

Yes, so if he wants to send some to me...

Unfortunately it looks just a little like the PM's Chief of Staff buying a senator.

Plus Senator Duffy perhaps should have read the

CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE FOR SENATORS

17. (1) Neither a Senator, nor a family member, shall accept, directly or indirectly, any gift or other benefit, except compensation authorized by law, that could reasonably be considered to relate to the Senator’s position.

Exception

(2) A Senator, and a family member, may, however, accept gifts or other benefits received as a normal expression of courtesy or protocol, or within the customary standards of hospitality that normally accompany the Senator’s position.

Really? That's strange...I was under the impression that Mike Duffy was a Conservative senator. How exactly does one "buy" someone who already works for you (not to mention being a personal friend)?

Maybe he's buying his continued silence.
