Great line of the day

In Stephen Maher's article about the terrible optics of the Vic Toews judicial appointment:

The bench should not be used as a retirement home for burnt out politicians.

That’s what the Senate is for . . .

Stephen Maher finishes his article claiming that Toews is qualified for the position. I would argue that he may have been 20 years ago, but after engaging in sexual intercourse with the family babysitter, impregnating her (her underage choice? I doubt that!!) Issuing asinine statements like you are either with the pornographers or not, but mostly, mostly this -- that standing beside someone being tortured and taking notes is okay, and the crap you write down while that person is being tortured should be considered in court of law, renders him totally incapable of meting out justice of any kind, in any court, EVER. No lawyer who believes in the rights of Canadian citizens should agree to be heard by him. He should be, as those mennonites do, SHUNNED.

Toews, in my opinion is one sick puppy and does not have the qualifications to sit as a judge. His past actions lead me to conclude he is morally bankrupt as is Harper for appointing him. So much for all that religious value shit they peddle. As to appointing his type to the senate, they tried that, and we saw how well that worked. They have enough "crooks" in the Senate.
