Its too bad that part of today's parade in Toronto had to be cancelled when the route was disrupted by Palestinian protestors.

In Toronto, the Pride Parade and Pride Week came about as part of mass protests against the 1981 Toronto Bathhouse Raids. It attracted 1,500 participants.
Today, over one million people attend the annual Pride Toronto celebration.

In 2019, Green Party leader Elizabeth May, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau all marched together in Vancouver's Pride Parade.
Today, nearly every major city in Canada celebrates Pride Month with a Pride Parade.
