An incredible observation:

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die. Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

This struck me as funny because I was recently doing battle with my printer and it's finally working fine but I still don't know what was wrong. I depend on "have you tried turning it off and turning it back on again" and that seemed to do it.

At first you will think this is nauseatingly cute but then it will grow on you and soon you will be cheering little Carter on as he enjoys cooking his little meal:

Next, Animal Crackers:

this tortoise has lived at the zoo for *ninety-three years* and is now a first-time parent, so you know, no matter how old you are, go ahead and write that novel www.washingtonpost.com/travel/2025/...
