Here's some good stuff about Canada

Elizabeth May lays it DOWN!

Elizabeth May is our old school common sense voice of reason in a world that is quicky (and wrongly) coming to believe AI knows everything and can do magic.

The United States keeps stumbling over its own feet
Another Emily Litella moment today for the Trump White House - Never Mind! As one commenter said "Rubio basically put a gun to Ukraine’s head and fired a blank."

So, to recap, Ukraine and Europe understand that America has effectively endorsed a 28-point plan to force Kyiv to capitulate, set a Thursday deadline to accept it, and threatened to cut off all aid. Now Marco Rubio says it's all wrong, that's not the plan, there's no deadline and no threat.

The theory is now that Russia thinks Trump is going down because of the Epstein files, and Putin is desperate to "win" in Ukraine while Trump can still be bullied into supporting Russia.

Well, well, well.... Let's think about why the Russians leaked it and why Trump is pushing for it at this particular moment. Could they think his days in the White House are numbered and they need to grab whatever they can?

The dumbest, stupidest, funniest part of this administration is that Kimmel getting to come back after a massive public pressure campaign folded Disney like a lawn chair is basically the exact moment Trump's authoritarian project failed.

This whole thread about oddball things is fascinating - here's the first post:

And here are a few of the responses:

My fave ASTM testing procedure is the concrete slump test. It's one of the few ways to test concrete as it comes out of the ready-mix truck. It's a truncated steel cone that's filled with concrete. The cone is removed & you measure the amount that the pile of concrete slumps down. The ASTM 1/2

In 1932 thousands of Emus were running rampant across Australia. In response they sent some WW1 vets with machine guns to handle the problem. The emus attacked the soldiers forcing them to abandon their weapons and run. It was dubbed the Great Emu War and humans lost.

Animal Crackers

The difference between cats and dogs is that when you have a dog you have a pet 100% of the time, and when you have a cat you have a pet somewhere between 20-50% of the time, only, and this is the important bit, you do not get any input on their schedule
