Roundup: Hot and bothered

The news from all over is challenging this week. First up, I think I'm very glad I don't live in the southern US - hotter than Hades this week.
Overseas the weather is no better. This video falls into the Holy Shit! category:
According to the Weather Channel coverage, nobody died.
Funniest story of the weekend was to see Poilievre try to manage his new image at the Calgary Stampede.
His handlers appear to have convinced him to fake a tan with makeup (who else do we know who does that?) and it went about as well as you would expect:
And Poilievre thinks Canadians will elect him to be prime minister? Once again, he admits he didn't know what he was doing: And no matter what they do to Poilievre, he will never be able to compete with the Blue Jean Baby: Moving on, here's an idea: Finally,  a contender for Tweet Of The Year:

that cruise ship is the height of tackie..
I'm sure PP will look great on it. He can float away and leave the rest of us to peace and quiet.

PP is never going to be Trudeau. You're either born with "it" or you are not. PP wasn't and to top it off, he is just plain nasty. can't imagine PP going to international conference in Europe to deal with the war in Ukraine, NATO membership, etc.

The honour of the worst Stampede get-up belongs to Stephen Harper who decided in 2005 to combine Pride and Stampede and go as a leatherman. But Harper's from Toronto, so some cultural confusion may be expected. What's PP's excuse? He was born and raised in Calgary.
