The most surprising thing about his congestive heart failure is the presence of an actual heart.

i don't think it's happening yet, but no one in the press corpse having seen trump for two days and him not even playing golf this weekend is... a little exciting

I don’t want to read too much into this, but several White House sources confirm that Vance was seen earlier today measuring the drapes in the Oval Office.

And by the way, on a serious note, I am grateful that in a comment to the last post, reader mr perfect alerted me to this piece:Joe Biden is out buying ice cream while everyone is asking whether Trump is dead.

Stephen Robinson / Public Notice
Alert the media: The White House is lying about Trump's healthAnd in his comment, mr perfect makes these good points about this issue:
Their explanations are absurd and it's time to start asking questions.
...Something clearly is up with the 79-year-old president, and the official explanations don’t make sense. That’s not surprising given that Trump is a world historical liar surrounded by toadies who surrendered their shame long ago. But it’s past time for reporters to ask some questions.
The mainstream press is still in self-flagellation mode over how they purportedly “ignored” former President Joe Biden’s decline. (In reality, they never stopped talking about.) But this soul-searching is apparently only backward looking and exclusive to Democratic presidents.
...it’s shocking that since July, no major news outlets have done serious investigations about Trump’s health and what the White House is trying to cover up about it.
Trump received a coronary calcium CT scan as part of a routine physical exam in 2018. His previous White House physician, Ronny Jackson — who also demonstrated an absurd willingness to lie about Trump’s health — revealed that Trump’s coronary calcium score was 133 (anything over 100 indicates heart disease in the patient).
And yet the media seems to have accepted Leavitt’s “frequent handshaking” diagnosis. Photos from last Saturday showed Trump with bruising on his left hand too. Are we to believe that he’s double-fisting his handshakes now?...
As Trump weakens from poor health and slips further into dementia there will be those in the GOP who will lose their fear of him and MAGA, especially those congress critters facing losses in November of 2026. The knives will come out under a fading Trump. The 25th amendment could be used and JD Vance would become president and while he wouldn't be an improvement, there is no way MAGA will support a man whose controller is a German born, South Africa raised gay person with a crash landing site in New Zealand in case things go sideways. When Trump dies the MAGA cult will be broken. Blue governed states are also starting to push back against Trump, led by Newsome and Pritzker. There is some hope, we have to find ways to survive the upcoming 16 months.
many professional political observers are closet or open trump supporters - when he fails or stumbles, as he frequently does, they cover for him and insert a fake, fictional trump into their stories that's doing smart stuff for normal reasons.

OK, back to some funny stuff I found this week:
Gavin Newsom is trolling Trump again... mocking his reported Qatar plane scandal with a parody post demanding Canada gift him “a big, beautiful plane.”

And this, too:Thank you, Canada. Gavin Newsom deserves a new jet plane.

When my dad would drive us from the farm into town, the one-finger wave on the wheel was how all the drivers greeted every passing car, and I just assumed everybody always did this everywhere:a long time ago i had a friend who went to jail for shooting her husband in the leg and when i asked why she shot her husband in the leg she said "i missed" and i still think about it

Thank you Cathy for platforming my thoughts on your blog. I was over at Professor Myers' blog Pharyngula and saw he posted a YouTube video by journalist Andrea Pitzer called One Day Trump Will Be gone. It's 24m 36s video but quite well done:

One of the commenters on the Professor's blog also linked to the ever introspective Robert Reich:

Our eldest daughter has a MSc and has been living with a green card in the USA for about a decade after being recruited by a R&D company. She has married an American and has our soon to be two year old granddaughter. Her immigration lawyer has told her not to leave the USA, do not attend political rallies nor say anything on social media criticizing the US government. She is still vulnerable to the whims of the Trump immigration policy, even if she does nothing wrong she could still be deported. Her husband, while not a Trump supporter won't consider living anywhere else other than the USA. We worry.
mr perfect
I hope she will be ok.
I wonder if there are any steps you could take here, without being too public about it - maybe to make sure her Canadian passport is current, ensure she has no fines or fees outstanding, have copies here if all her ID and your grandchild's ID too, maybe consult with a lawyer on other steps, etc. I read recently that Trump admin is going to review all green cards, so I can understand why you would worry.
There are builders and breakers. What trump has broken and normalized will never be recovered from . Those who bought him and sold us to the whims of corporate desire jacked on A.I. at the expense of people, all life on the planet and the planet itself are off and the pedo fuehrers death tonight will not undo that.
Lungta, you are right!
The world could forgive America for one mistake, but shows a profound inner rot.
