Today's News: Outstanding Support for Trans Rights

I thought this was outstanding: Because we don't get to choose the battle, we only get to choose our side. When people whose rights are under attack need us to stand up and be counted, then we all have to do that, just as Trudeau did.
Of course he got criticized for it from the usual suspects - and he knew he would be - but he did it anyway.
Saskatoon City Council also stepped up yesterday:

This is outstanding too: And this: And this is why trans rights are important: Because if bigots get away with demonizing trans-gender people then this is what will happen next: Turns out, this whole anti-trans push started four years ago: There is a petition underway now to ask Parliament to make Canada a country for trans people from around the world who will need refuge from discrimination in their countries - hope everyone can sign it:

In the future, go publish this stuff on your own blog.
Nobody here is interested in reading it.

I'm in favor of deleting anti- trans biologically essentialist nonsense like the above comment. The writer should read a book published after 1930 to learn that biological sex has at least 7 categories in science

Your ignorance of biology beyond a grade school level is showing in this reductive penis/vagina nonsense. Grab a book to learn more- Dr. Fausto-Sterling's 'Sexing the body' is a great read. It's much more complex than your statements above.

I have decided to delete these anti-trans comments that I am getting today. While discussion on my blog is welcome, I am not interesting in providing a platform for hateful anti-trans comments. This is not a place where anti-trans people can make these kinds of statements.
Anyone who wants to dispute the rights of trans people can start their own blog to do so.

All DSDs (intersex conditions) are classed as either male or female. In any case, intersex has nothing to do with transgender.

It's disappointing that Cathie would delete those that question transsexual rights.
Sexuality has become a political weapon or should I say always has.
I have seen and heard from via CBC radio the actions of transsexuals.
I have a close friend whose daughter first came out as Lesbian and now considers herself male who is going through the process of becoming 'male' whilst still possessing the ovaries necessary for childbirth!!
As much as I can see transsexual males still desire females.
I back this up in that years ago when this subject first came to light a transsexual male( the first in my area) hot on my heterosexual daughter!!
Many years ago the CBC interviewed a transsexual male who still desired females!

The subject is difficult and i have sympathy for those unsure of their sexual identity.

That said we should tread carefully whilst making our 'sexual' decisions??

Well, TB, I can agree with your conclusion that the subject is difficult. The goal is to support people if they are making a personal journey, not deny people the right to make decisions for themselves or act bigoted toward people whose decisions you don't understand.

The goal is to support people if they are making a personal journey,

Sorry that sounds a bit ambiguous.
There are many groups and individuals seeking help especially in the mentally handicapped come drug addicted group who are much more cruelly treated than those with gender issues .
When it comes to biological issues I am not even at the novice stage but it, transgender, is perhaps a genomic/mental health issue?
