Today's News: Truanons and Nuremberg 2.0 and understanding the damn question

So on Saturday this happened:
Of course, Reid had to withdraw his tweet -- he "didn't realize" he had been suckered by a doctored Trudeau video.
I guess jumping to conclusions based on lies is the kind of thoughtful decision-making Canadians can expect from esteemed business leaders now?

And of course, in his supposed "apology" tweet he managed to be offensive AGAIN: He didn't address his apparent support of residential school denialism.
Also, I guess he thinks that Liberals and Trudeau supporters are just "Tru-anons"?
What an asshole.

Next, on Sunday, this happened:
First, you need to know the background -- apparently, some Maple MAGAs have been promoting what they call "Nuremberg 2.0":
Nuremberg 2.0 advocates typically call for those who created, justified or enforced public health measures — including politicians, doctors, academics, journalists and police — to be jailed and even executed for “crimes against humanity.”
Its all very creepy and weird.  So on Sunday, Press Progress released a major story that BC Conservative leader John Rustad had talked to an interviewer in July about supporting Nuremberg 2.0: Rustad later - hours later - issued a statement saying he had misunderstood the interviewer's question. Yeah, sure ...
You know, Trudeau considers his words very carefully and he works hard to explain complicated concepts and events to Canadians -- look how in the above clip he was trying to get us to understand the complex and difficult issues of church fire crimes, anger toward church-run residential schools, prejudice against religious groups, and so forth.
Canada needs to respect that kind of effort -- or else we'll just get more yahoo politicians like Runstad who talk shit to curry favour with jerks and then try to get a mulligan by claiming they didn't understand the question.
Understanding the question is their job, damn it!

Thanks for posting about the brouhaha. I rarely go to Twitter anymore as it's full of garbage. One aspect of the BC election I'd love to share (besides learning about the Nuremberg 2.0 incident by the Con leader) is my thought that the Conservatives all want to eliminate the carbon pricing without realizing that the oil & gas companies will fully raise the prices at the pump to occupy that vacated tax space. And there will be no rebates nor any progress on the climate crisis.

Sorry I didn't mean for that comment above to be anonymous. I stand by my words.
