Sunday Funday: a Disney parody, some Funny Laugh-til-you-cry posts and some Funny Ha-ha posts, plus TrumpWatch and Animal Crackers

First, an hilarious clip from Netherlands talk show host Lubach, about Disney's new stories:

You know, sometimes I'm not sure whether something I want to post for my Sunday Funday is actually funny or not -- some are closer to "funny laugh-til-you-cry" than "funny ha-ha".
Anyway, here are some posts from both categories this week.

On a side note, I enjoy seeing how often lawyer Ken White changes his posting name to reflect whatever is happening that day or week - "Disney Surrender Hat" is his latest, last week it was "Stand with Chicago Hat". There is even an account that follows PopeHat's name changes now @popehatnamechanges.bsky.social

Here are some funny posts about MAGA supporters:

I presume the Roberts Court will someday be reading this opinion and I hope they are cringing when they do:

I am pleased to report that Hawaii Supreme Court Justice Todd Eddins has dropped another total evisceration of the Supreme Court. He says originalism is a fraud—and the Republican justices are shamelessly making up facts and history to impose radical Christian nationalism: slate.com/news-and-pol...

Check out Justice Eddins’ complete repudiation of the Roberts Court here. It’s worth reading in full. It’s quite brave—and exceedingly rare—for a sitting judge to speak so candidly and scathingly about SCOTUS’ partisan contortions of law, history, and fact. www.courts.state.hi.us/wp-content/u...

But we do need to remember this:

Man, a lot of crazy shit has happened since Epstein’s birthday letter was released a week ago Monday.

— God (@thegodpodcast.com) September 17, 2025 at 7:17 PM

And this:

I'm not trying to tell you it's not going to suck but this is more or less what the path to most of the good endings looks like: 1) isolated, unpopular president with few allies 2) entirely transactional and lightly committed collaborators 3) deeply committed domestic and international opposition

Moving on to a much better politician, Zohran will make a great mayor of New York:

On June 24, I began my Election Night speech by quoting Mandela: “It always seems impossible until it’s done.” That's the spirit of this campaign, and our city. This is "Until It’s Done,” a new series about New Yorkers who refused to accept that a worthy goal was impossible.

Here's some Canada posts too:

πŸ”΄ I still remember SO fondly, that day that the strategy maestro, Mark Carney, ENDED the consumer carbon tax and in a single stroke of a penπŸ–Š️, CRUSHED Pierre Poilievre’s main talking point - and 2 whole YEARS of maple-MAGA disinformation strategy, VANISHED in a puff of smoke… πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I still chuckle with great delight.😌

I have a new strategy to respond to scurrilous and derisive, eye-rolling comments on the Carney government announcements of new initiatives or investments. I write and delete several screeds attacking the individual’s ignorance, gullibility, patriotism, and malevolence, etc. Then, I politely ask what they would do differently. Inevitably there is no reply, and I feel virtuous that I have not contributed to an online rage war. I have been successfully employing my new strategy for about 30 minutes now, and I think it’s working. 😁

For some reason that I couldn't find, a bunch of people are preparing for The Rapture next Tuesday and posting about it in social media.

Next, I mean, I know its sad and all that this man died, but all of these duplicated posts are really sort of funny and exactly what social media is best at!

There were hundreds of these this week. And having at one time worked on a word processor system where every cut/copy and paste attempt demanded multiple keystrokes to achieve, I do really appreciate these simple commands.

I'm really glad I will never have to drive these round-abouts, plus they're driving on the wrong side of the road!

Pearls Before Swine is one of my favorite comics and its because of strips like this, which always end with a character threatening Stephan Pastis with mayhem for writing such puns:

Today in cool stuff on our spinning rock: Did you know that some octopus have a trick called 'passing cloud', where they flash pulses over their skin to make it look like something HUGE has passed overhead - thereby startling prey into moving, so they can grab them? Incredible. πŸ™
