You know, when you think about it, perhaps one of the greatest services Trudeau ever did for Canada was to resign at exactly the right time.
If Trudeau had been trying to save his leadership over the last two months, I expect a significant number of Canadians would have written off his warnings about Trump as just outlandish and self-serving hype - "oh, it can't be serious, Trudeau is just trying to scare us to get us to support him, Trump couldn't possibly be so stupid...." while the Conservatives would have howled about another Justin lie...
But as of January 6, we knew Trudeau was resigning - and we knew there was no political future in Canada for him anymore.
Later in January, when Trudeau started to talk about Trump's goal of economic destruction and annexation, Canadians almost immediately took him seriously.
Also, because he was resigning, Trudeau was unleashed - he didn't have to worry anymore about future prime-ministerial calculations or advantages. Canadians quickly accepted that Trudeau had no reason to obfuscate or mislead about Trump, and we started serious discussions about what our next steps should be.
Even when Trump tried to undermine Trudeau's rising popularity by posting that Trudeau was manoeuvring to save his leadership (which is, of course, exactly what Trump himself would do) Canada didn't take the bait -- we immediately saw this for what it was, just another Trump lie.
So the warnings from Trudeau and Joly and LeBlanc were believed and taken seriously by most Canadians - a unexpected but magnificent surge of unity and patriotism and solidarity has been the result.
Here are some of the imspiring cartoons and posts I have seen in the last month:

Enjoy your life:
And just a side note: someone said that Trudeau removing his chair from the Commons was a sign there will not be a parliamentary session starting March 23, because an election will be going on then. The face Trudeau made as he left parliament hill for the last time, today - carrying his seat out of the Commons. Nice catch, Carlos Osario! #ThankYouTrudeau #CanadaSky 🇨🇦

Snappy tunes and cartoons, flags and gags. Loved every minute
caveat
Better get at rigging all of our infrastructure, dams, mines, bridges and airports to blow if we are really are in this.
Tariffs and blockades will have zero effect on the american oligarchy and a couple of aircraft carriers cuts us off from ANY trade except internally.
Breaking america AND Canada is a doable plan for them.
And Gaza looks like a business opportunity if your subhuman.
Our best hope is a military coup by the americans on the whitehouse and thats remote with the only quality for positions was drumpf loyalty.
Or a Dem come back but with the Drrumpf promise of never having to vote again past 2024 the only blue you might see is from them holding their breath.
Guess what I am saying is we were so offended by 51 being called a silly joke by the american idiot and now that it isn't ..... sticks and stones will break our bones.... especially with a nation ok with, extortion, torture and gaza becoming rubble.
Watch out for the 5th column too ...those 1 in 10 Canadian pro-51ers, they told you who they were ....believe them . Smith, O'Leary and until last month 'lil pp. (now it's not broken)
Canada and America are the same just in different proportions.
Thanks lungta. It appalls me that at my age I have to worry about another Canadian war, and worry about my children too and all their friends. It is going to be awful. But at least we are getting prepared now I think
I loved that photos of Trudeau. It mimics one of his dad.
