And this explains a lot, doesn't it:The ironic thing about Trump saying he would’ve had a better seat at the Queen’s funeral than Biden is that he wasn’t even invited LOL

But of course the REALLY important news of the day was the video of Trudeau singing in a hotel lobby lounge last Saturday night.Read this...

A coordinated campaign of targeted harassment of Meghan on Twitter — 114,000 tweets from just 83 accounts using their combined 187,631 followers are responsible for approximately 70% of the negative and often hateful content about Meghan.https://t.co/8lAq1BkIFa

I feel very privileged to live in a country where the most controversial thing to have happened today is footage of the prime minister singing on Saturday night with a Quebec icon in the lobby of a hotel while in London for the Queen’s funeral. #perspective

I do because I thought he was actually pretty good, and now I want the next election debate to be a sing-off.

Trudeau singing the Queen songbook vs. Poilievre singing, uh... Ted Nugent or Kid Rock or whatever other washed-up musicians vote MAGA.
Hmmm...While PMJT sang at a piano bar … this was happening at Trump’s Saturday rally. Can we get our rage priorities straight? #IStandWithTrudeau #NeverVoteConservative #CdnMediaFailed pic.twitter.com/KedSn8QzmD

I wonder how much Canada has also been affected by this global Russian anti-democracy campaign:I’ve never seen so many single digit new troll accounts attacking the Prime Minister. It’s like the conservatives have hired foreign scam farms to create a bunch of fake accounts to troll liberals. It’s really weird. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Slava Ukrainia!πΊπ¦πͺ
And here's what I'm afraid might happen next as Ukraine continues to push Russia out of its territory:Look at the hole that appears around July 11 in the south eastern territory. Growing and sold. Not a good sign for Russia. https://t.co/ARzIch3dp5

The campaign against Markle is an example of the Russian propaganda technique known as the "firehose of falsehoods" or what Steve Bannon calls "flooding the zone with bullshit" - 114,000 tweets from just 83 accounts accounting for 70% of the negative content. The Trudeau Bohemian Rhapsody story is another example, one that was picked up and amplified by the CBC and other major media who ought to know better.
Conservatives, often aided by Russia, are making use of the firehose of falsehood and it's been remarkably successful at shaping public opinion around climate change, Brexit, QAnon and MAGA.
The RAND Corporation analyzed the technique and concluded that we cant "expect to counter Russia's firehose of falsehood with the squirt gun of truth." Instead, they recommend putting "raincoats on those at whom the firehose is aimed." That means getting the truth out much faster and amplifying it through a wide variety of credible channels. To see a master at work, watch Zelenskii. The Ukrainians have been hugely successful in shaping world opinion despite the barrage of bullshit coming from Russia. The Libs will have to learn from this if they want to counter PP's disinformation.
Cap
Yes, Zelensky is an incredibly effective communicator isn't he. Also, he must have a great team writing for him who really know his voice and understand the importance of having a consistent message.
