Too many of our community members still face discrimination and hate on a daily basis, both here at home and worldwide. We'd like to encourage everyone to stand up to fear, hate, and violence.

HOCKEY IS FOR EVERYONE
As I saw these tweets, I was remembering the lengthy battle that had to be fought against homophobia in athletics - only a few years ago, support for same-sex marriage could derail an athlete's career, and the struggle is still going on. Its better than it was, but there is still a distance to go.

Jake Daniels, the 17-year-old forward for Blackpool FC in England, just came out as gay. He is the first UK professional footballer to come out in decades. I am proud of him and the hope he offers so many young gay people, but I look forward to a day when this is no longer news. pic.twitter.com/YY8J4OMQmH— Brian Collins (@briancollins1) May 18, 2022
